I have just come across this website, and this is great!
But I just wanted to ask on lunch options for a rep on the road.
As you know, buying lunches can be really expensive, and being away from home for work means I cant prepare a lunch, or keep it fresh.
Can you suggest a healthy option for the busy worker on the road so I dont completely blow out on unhealthy food?
thanks in advance!

Hey Trish

Go for snacks and foods that are easy to take on the road. eg… apples, almonds, natural yoghurt or cottage cheese and blueberries. Use one of those little cooler bags and take that with you so you can keep everything fresh.

If you can’t have left overs from your previous nights healthy meal etc… then get organised with lunches ahead of time. Once every few days boil some eggs, and chop up some salad, veggies and fruit. If you’ve got any grilled chicken breast whack that in your salad.

Try to stay a step ahead of yourself so you don’t find yourself wondering “what the heck” am I going to have today.

If you’re going to have a sandwich or roll go for multi-grain. If you like wheat-free bread, that’s even better.

For those times when you don’t have anything organised, you might want to have a couple of favourite places that you go too that you know provide nutritionally supportive meals and snacks. Go over their menus, ask them “do you mind telling what this contains?”

That way if you have a couple of back-up healthy meal plans that you can grab on the run you’ll be able to stay on track easier and you’ll feel better too because you won’t find yourself falling victim to eating crap.
