Hi Doris

I would at least try for "4" meals - especially if your 3 meals are smaller. Why don't you have a protein shake for your fourth meal? High protein, very low carbs and low fat protein powder. Use one that you can mix with water.

Hi, I have a huge belly and i read on websites that not eating after 6pm really reduces the waistline. Can I follow these guidelines, eat 3 meals instead of 5-6 before 6pm (The meals are well balanced and are 3 hours apart) and still improve my metabolism?

Hi Anna, I personally do not endorse them - see my side note in Steve's article above. The reason I've included this article here, is because I get so many folk making enquiries about "cutting up" and fat loss for special occassions. But felt I needed to also state my opinion in it eg.. side note.

I've asked Ross to answer this question for you, as I think it deserves specific attention...

See Ross's response below...
Take care, Anna... keep the questions coming. :-)
Kind regards... Mandy

-----------------

Hi Anna,

This is a very tricky question, because different people respond differently to these types of products. For example, if I take even half of the recommended dose for any of these products, I will be up all night with heart palpitations and I am scared to think what I would feel like if I took the full dose. Therefore there is no way I would recommend a specific product of this type to anyone.

However, I do have some recommendations for taking these products in general. If you have not used them before, start off with a fraction of the recommended dosage to see how your body responds. Another thing is these products should not be used for a long period of time and any product will become less effective over time as your body becomes habituated (gets used to) the ingredients.

Additionally, the longer people are on these products, the more weight they typically gain when they eventually do go off them. Personally, I think thermogenics are best used sparingly (once or twice a week) as energy products, such as to help get the most out of a workout when you are tired. Some people do have success with these products for weight loss, but results vary widely as it often has more to do with the person’s physiology than it does with the actual product.

If anything, these products may be helpful during periods of stagnation, to help jump start some additional progress, but the least consistently you use them, the better off you will be in the long run. I am not saying this is necessarily the case for you, but most people I have dealt with who wanted to take thermogenics, still had major flaws with their nutrition and exercise routines and were hoping the thermogenics would solve their problems.

If you are doing things right with your nutrition, exercise, recovery, sleep, stress, and other aspects of health and fitness, then you can try giving a thermogenic a shot. If the ingredients are the same, one product should be just about as good as the next, but it is a good idea to stick with a well-known brand or at least a company that has been around for many years and has good customer reviews/feedback.

Sorry if this is not the answer you were looking for, but while thermogenics are incredibly popular, in my experience, most people are not fully satisfied with them in the long run. The best case scenario is they can provide some benefit to an already good exercise and nutrition program, but they can not make up for a poor diet or workout routine,

Hey Mandy, you talk about Thermogenics that contain caffeine, green tea extracts and an extract called coleus forskohlii, is there a thermogenic that you would recomend that has all these ingredients? There are so many thermogenics on the market that it's hard to know which ones are the best!
Please help, thanks :)

Pills are never the miracle solution, Shezan. It's exercise and nutrition. Nutrition playing a massive role in the reduction of body fat.

First off you should be checking with your doctor in regards to your exercise and eating plan. Do what exercises bit fit in with your medical condition without aggravating it. If you focus on your nutrition you'll get great results, if you're limited to what exercises you can do.

hi the pills never suited me i had been loosign weight and regaining it many times.. i was 100kg before and i brought it down t 72 and i was damn gud looking than.. but this time i'm not been able to concentrate i tried pills in my last attempt too was half successfull pills didn't suit me.. however greentea works perfect with me.. so if i drink plenty of green tea through out the day with the strict diet as u mentioned will that be good. i'm currently 83kg 5'6 1/2 height... i wanna reach 72-70 within 45 days
few info about cardio i hav gall stones so i don't try to do intense cardio as it could damage gall bladder with stones..but i still manage to get my heartbeat elevated... so whats the main task here to do intense cardio or get the hearbeat elevated by any activity i think of doing super sets of variou excercises like squats twists burpees n stuff like that combine all of them in different sets each...
for how long should i be doing cardio to lose maximum weight

Hi bk

First off, losing 15kgs in a month is being unrealistic. It sounds like you're looking for a fast fix. That's not the right way to go about losing weight.

Take a look through VFT's blog and you'll find heaps of great advice for weight loss and fat loss that are effective and a heck of a lot healthier and better for you in the long term than trying to find a quick miracle fix.

Where do I start? There are way too many to list... the basics... skipping, jumping jacks, jumping jacks scissor legs (legs going back and forth instead of from the middle outwards), burpees, box jumps... you also might like to check out you tube - see "JNL Fusion" - Jennifer Nicole Lee has plenty of quick calorie burning options for you.

Otherwise, I'd suggest you purchase some dvd's specifically for cardio and burning fat.
