Hey Sarah, would you mind if I used your questions for my next interview with Joey? He's agreed to catch up again to answer some of VFT's visitors leg, hip, butt and thigh workout questions.

I love working my butt, what exercises work the top of your butt? I'm always sore on the lower part but not on top. I do squats, lunges, leg curls, stepups, plies and I'm never sore at the top of my butt.

Travis, higher reps with no weights or dumbbells: step-ups, walking lunges, reverse lunges, basic squats. To help tone, shape, break down the size and burn more calories.

Hey, im kinda a larger than normal person and thats no exceptions for my gluts. I was hoping to do some of these excercises to burn down. Will these workouts work for me to tone down? And if it will, which ones are best? i would prefer the 3 most effective. Thank you very much for your time!

Hi Joy... see the above comment - my reply to Chris. Also keep an eye out on VFT's site for my interview with Joey Atlas. Using some of the comments from the blog in regards Legs, Hips, Butt and Thigh questions. The interview should be uploaded to VFT sometime next week.

I have sprained my ankle recently which has decreased my lower body workouts. Which can I do that will tone my lower body (legs and glutes) without putting pressure on my ankle? That definitely leaves out any kind of lunge or squats sadly.

It will depend on your eating plan and your workout in general. But if your goal is to try to build your butt then add more resistance, eg... add the use of dumbbells, increase the weight of the weight plates on the leg press... etc you get my drift. Aim for lower reps, and higher resistance. In saying that though, make sure you don't go piling on the weights to the point where you can't preform your exercises with correct form and technique. Safety must come first.

Can you tell me approximately how much muscle thickness I can expect to gain from these glute excercises? My concern isn't so much my appearance, but keeping my pants up. I'm pretty sure the problem is the way I'm built in back. I've tried everything (belts, etc...) The only thing keeping them up now is suspenders, which look stupid with alot of clothes. I think I'd need to gain at least an inch (probably more) in my buttocks for it to do much good.
Thanks
