Today’s lesson is probably going to freak you out.
But I want you to just jump in feet first and do it anyway.
What kind of relationship do you have with yourself?
If you jotted down some of the things you say to yourself, what would your reaction be?
Would the list look something like this?
“I’m too fat”
“I’m never going to get into great shape”
“I’ll always end up failing at my attempts to reduce body fat”
“I’m useless at sticking to my fitness program”
“Do I even deserve this, when I always fail anyway?”
“I’m a loser”
“I can’t stand looking at myself in the mirror”
“My butt will never be perky and round”
“I’ll never have toned arms”
For most people, the things you say to yourself, putting yourself down constantly, comes without a second thought.
…Yet to say nice things about yourself is such a struggle.
Do you spend more time putting yourself down, than building yourself up?
If someone told you to list at least 5 things that you love about yourself what would they be? Would you struggle to find 5, 3 or even 1?
Here’s what I want you to do today, right now…
– Write an email (or forward my email, if that’s more comfy for you)
– Message your friends on facebook
– Or via Twitter Message
Post or Write this to people who you know will treat this with respect:
“As part of my mindset and motivation homework with Personal Fitness Trainer & Transformation Coach Mandy Gibbons, my assignment is to ask 10+ friends… What are the first 5 things that come to mind that you appreciate about me?”
And tag me if you use social media with “I’ve done my assigment, Mandy”, so I can see that you’ve followed through on it.

You’re probably thinking this sounds weird, right?
When I was first taught something similar to this, I didn’t do it. I felt kinda silly. And I was worried what people would say if I put myself out there.
But I’m so glad I did eventually do it, because there were things about me that I didn’t even notice or realize about myself, things that others liked about me. Qualities that I took for granted. It was pretty emotional reading the responses.
So start being kind to yourself, and get onto this assignment now!
