You’ve probably noticed that what I share in my emails isn’t the “norm” when it comes to fat loss.
I love what I do, I’m passionate about it, I love creating a lifestyle for myself and my clients that supports fat loss and sexy lean muscle.
I don’t care about all the crazy so called rules – do this, do that, all or nothing, diet until you’re miserable, train until you puke every day… whatever.
Truth is, I’ve tried so many different techniques, gone hard core with rules, learnt along the way, but have decided I don’t want to do it that way.
Why should I? Why should you?
It’s your life, your body…
I’ll be honest, there’s another reason why I do things the way I do.
It’s because I want to create, I guess you could call it… a legacy… even a movement.
I do what feels right for me, and show my clients how to do the same for themselves…
And that’s to create your own fat loss lifestyle that supports the results you truly want to achieve.
I’m proud and love that I discuss the more in depth stuff that takes place when it comes to living a lifestyle that encourages fat loss.
I love that I’m transparent that this isn’t about you just magically waking up one day, without putting in the work, and finding yourself looking like a fitness model.
Yes you can look awesome, yes you do have to put in the work…
But when you’re consistent and doing the things that you know work and are bringing you closer to your goals… AND are in alignment with creating the best version of you, not anyone else, it changes things in a big way.
And today I want to share with you what I do, and some steps I share with my clients, to help you create your own awesome “ultimate you dream body” fat loss lifestyle.
1. Stop BS-ing yourself there’s a magic pill that’s going to fix your fat loss
One thing that really woke me up to what could be achieved was when I first started with a personal trainer, before I became a PT myself, many many moons ago…
I had no idea what I was doing before that. I was the queen of buying videos and all kinds of crap hoping that something would work fast.
Even when I got some results, I would just quit anyway, I’d get bored and it really didn’t feel like it suited who I was anyway.
Then I started with my trainer, and saw the results that came from that, from putting in the work, and knowing what to do…
And it woke me up to the fact that there really is NO magic pill.
AND EVEN BETTER….I didn’t need ONE!
I didn’t need a magical solution… I could actually do it myself. And it worked way faster and way more effectively.
2. Be ready to take responsibility for your “ultimate you dream body” goals – and results!
You can blame everyone in the world for you not having the fat loss and sexy lean muscle, defined shoulders, awesome backside and legs that you’ve always wanted…
But you know deep down, at the end of the day, that it comes down to you.
Get real with yourself.
“Feel” your goals, set goals that feel awesome for you, that get you excited, that challenge you but are also going to lead to you the fat loss results and lifestyle that you want to live.
3. Make it about being the ultimate version of YOU… not anyone else.
You are your own unique person, and have your own unique body shape.
Accept that. Understand that it’s awesome… and beneficial to you, your goals and your results.
Because it means you can have and create a body like no one else’s.
That’s huge, that’s exciting!
4. Stop resisting and fighting the urge – and the journey – to achieve those results…
If you spend all your time detesting your workouts, detesting the results and how to achieve them…
If you keep telling yourself it’s a waste of time, it’s a punishment…
Then you need to change your attitude big time and start doing some internal work on “why” you keep doing that.
You can sit back and complain and allow that to rule your life or get in there and make the changes.
The results won’t come to you… unless you make them happen!
Remember it’s your life, your body and you create your own rules – whether it be to succeed at your fat loss goals or dump drama and baggage on them everytime you consider doing something awesome for yourself.
5. Once you’ve reached your goal – set another one!
Example: You train, you eat right, do everything you think you should be doing, you get results…
Then you say “oh well, I’m here now, I’ll stop now and take a break”…
Before you know it… weeks have past , then months…
And you’re back to square one, looking back wondering why you gave up when you felt and looked as awesome as you did.
Instead of getting to that short-term goal and quitting… Set another one. It could be for a special occasion, holiday, photo shoot, business function / catchup, friend’s birthday… whatever. Set the date and work towards that.
Get excited about it and knowing that if you’re consistent and keep setting these goals and aiming for them, you’re going to keep raising the bar each time, often without realising you’re doing it…
While also maintaining a rocking body at the same time!
6. Understand – and this is really powerful – that getting into the best shape on our own terms, means living a life that empowers you.
Write down 10 things, right now, that you can benefit from having and living, experiencing, your ultimate you dream body.
What would that feel like to you?
What would you be doing?
Who would you be spending time with?
How would it change your life?
Wouldn’t it be super cool to just stop wondering about “living” this “dream”… and actually be in it, experience it first hand?
This is a gift to yourself, allowing yourself to feel good about yourself…
Not having to keep thinking twice about the clothes you wear…
Not having to worry about turning down events, special occasions with friends and family, because you don’t want to put on a swim suit, or because everyone will be dressed in summer clothes and you’re terrified of that.
Not having to feel like you’re missing out on life or knocking back doing cool stuff with your kids.
This is a big deal!
So how do you put this all together?
Just take that first step and get started…
If you’re not right now taking the steps to move forward then you’re going to keep back-pedalling and getting frustrated.
You recognise it’s time for change, and that you’re ready to take that next step…
