I’m officially into the 6th week of the second phase of the “Get out of shape / get back into shape experiment”.
I’m pretty impressed with the results so far. If I do say so myself. 🙂
It’s very very very cool seeing my body transform as each week passes by.
Yes, I’ve had a few unexpected hurdles…
I was a little naïve to say the least… to think it would be plain sailing. I was so buzzed about doing this experiment I hadn’t planned to be plagued by injuries…
But here’s the thing, when you “let yourself go”… eg your muscle depletes, your core strength goes out the window, as does your flexibility. Leaving yourself wide open for injuries.
Has my injuries affected my results so far…?
Yes… BUT I’m still getting results.
The changes are still kicking in.
Which is sooooooooo freakin cool!
Just goes to prove how effective the Ultimate YOU Dream Body Program really is! 🙂
As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve designed a modified workout due to my injuries, because I truly believe no matter what the situation is, you can figure out a “work around”.
I have to say that it’s absolutely awesome feeling stronger, fitter and more flexible.
It’s a relief to be getting back into shape again.
You don’t realise how much you miss feeling like this until you’re not in shape, if that makes sense.
When I started 6 weeks ago, I had lost so much strength in my upper body from the “get out of shape experiment” I was only using 3 kg (around 6.5 pounds) dumbbells in that first week.
This week I’m using 5kgs (around 11 pounds) and 6kgs (about 13 pounds).
6 weeks ago, Tricep dips were out of the question. I was struggling to do 2 reps of modified pushups. And just 1 set of squats or lunges was fatiguing my legs.
Now I’m pumping out 3-4 sets of tricep dips, modified pushups… same with lunges and squats within one workout. And just this week, now my pelvis is feeling a little better, I was able to do a small amount of gentle plyo work.
This is huge!
Why?
I’m building more muscle. More muscle means “upping” my metabolism.
Remember the basis of this program is fat loss and sexy lean muscle.
I’m so excited! Woohoo!
I’m only 7 weeks away from reaching my goal – and I can’t wait to get there.
Oh… And while I’m here…
I just want to do a quick “SHOUT OUT” to Denise! An awesome inspiring Ultimate YOU Dream Body member.
She’s kicking ass, getting results and isn’t afraid to ask for help when she needs it.
Denise knows that asking for help and getting those answers to maximise your efforts equals faster results!
I love helping my clients get closer and closer to their goals.
I’m just as excited as Denise to see how fantastic she’s doing. Not to mention the photos at the end of the 12 weeks!
Denise is moving into the 3rd phase of the Ultimate YOU Dream Body program…
Taking it up a notch is an understatement. This is when all the training and nutrition and results go into overdrive.
Congrats Denise… YOU ROCK… and deserve all the awesome results you achieve from this program. Very proud of you!
Just like Denise…
I have an image in my head of EXACTLY how I want to look.
How much bodyfat % I want to lose… where I want my measurements to be at. The goal clothing I want to totally rock.
With 7 weeks left for me, I know it will fly by!
So I’m going to do everything I possibly can to make this happen, because this is about quality of life, feeling awesome and being proud of my body.
I’ve just celebrated my 45th Birthday, so completing this whole crazy experiment, and kicking ass at it, is my gift to myself.
I’m going to post some photo’s next week that I’ve taken as well.
I will probably look a bit weird in them with my pelvis being out when I took them, but I’ve got nothing to hide in this challenge so I’m baring it all to you.
OTHER NEWS…
As you know our beautiful furry boy Arnie passed away at 12.5 years old.
It’s been tough on all of us. Especially Louie (our other furry baby), who has spent nearly 10 years (his whole life) with Arnie.
It’s Louie’s 10th Birthday today.
Happy birthday beautiful boy… (fav puppy pics of Louie)
Love you to the moon and back, Lou… xoxo
It’s been heart breaking to see how miserable and lonely Louie has been without Arnie.
So we put it out there to God and the universe that if it’s meant to be for us to find a new brother for Louie that we needed to find a doggy that would be perfect for Louie.
We know that no doggy can replace Arnie. And we’re still going to continue to miss him enormously. I still have days when I start making an extra meal for him or go to call him and then remember he’s not with us. 🙁
Opening our lives and hearts up and giving another doggy an opportunity to have a loving forever home with us feels right.
Introducing Mayson…
Mayson is a 10 year old yellow lab, from Labrador Rescue.
It’s super hard for rescue organisations to adopt out older doggies, simply because of their age. We fell in love with him as soon as we read his story.
After going through the adoption process and finding out more about him we know he’s going to get along amazingly with Louie. Couple of beautiful older Labs chilling together in their retirement years. 🙂
We’ll be picking him up next week.
I’ll post some photos on my facebook wall over the next couple of weeks.
What’s happening next for me…?
Well lots actually, too much to include in this blog post, but I’ll fill you in soon.
That’s it for this weeks “Get out of shape / get back into shape experiment” update.
I’m off to organise some super inspiring Ultimate YOU accountability homework for my clients that’s going to help them take their results to a whole other level.
I feel so lucky to love my work, like I do.
